Swollen Members are back with a new album, Dagger Mouth, dropping this March. I’m a hell of a lot more optimistic for this than their 2009, Armed to the Teeth. Sounds more like the SM I’ve grown to smoke to.
Check out their second single, “Mr. Impossible”. Another beat to pillage and conquer by Rob the Viking with Mad Child & Prevail tearing it up with a few fresh cuts – Love the Cudi reference, lol –
[audio:Mr-Impossible.mp3|titles=Mr. Impossible]Had the original “Rock the Casbah” as my wake up alarm for a long ass time, but got real sick of it after a while. Always thought it would be a good track to remix, though.
Well, until you see DJ Zmann makin’ waves, check out Funkagenda’s remix of The Clash’s original, “Rock the Chashbah” – probably better than I could ever do anyway.
[audio:Rock-The-Casbah.mp3|titles=Rock the Casbah (Funkagenda Remix)]I first heard the live version of “You Can Run” from This Bonus Track a couple days back and just picked this one up today. The difference between the two is mostly in quality, but Cudi’s contribution also changes up.
In this version, Cudi lays a bit more polished lines down and not to discredit Greenberg, but makes the track. I’ve seen the sentimental side of Cudi before, but I never knew that acoustics would flow so well with his rhymes […]

Good lyrics all around
[audio:Ring-To-It.mp3|titles=Ring to It]Coyote Kisses, formed by Joe Sussingham & Bryce Bresnan, is an electronic group that caught my attention from the first few seconds, which doesn’t happen often enough. I have a few songs of theirs to showoff, but first is their recently released, “Starchaser”.
“Starchaser” has a fine resemblance to a Daft Punk track and would probably fit right in to a Tron: Legacy scene. I’ll let one half of the duo, Joe, give you a feel for what they were going for, but make sure to stay tuned for my next post on them, I’d say it hits even HARDER […]
[audio:Starchaser.mp3|titles=Starchaser]Hearing Das Racist’s flow for the first time a few months back, I really enjoyed their free form style. It reminds me of the drunk fist kung fu fighter, Brad Wong, on Dead or Alive 3 – basically, a loose, free flowing style. Almost every beat of theirs I run across fits their flow quite well, but in one of their latest tracks, “Hahahaha jk”, that feeling wasn’t quite there.
When I heard The Hood Internet’s mashed up version with The Cult’s “Go Outside”, I thought it was a much better fit. The Cult’s backup vocals & instrumentals give Das Racist’s original a laid back vibe more fitting to their loose lip style. It still may not be my favorite Das Racist track, but this mashup is an interesting collision of genres […]
[audio:Go-Haha.mp3|titles=Go Hahahaha]Kanye & Jay-Z have teamed up once again for what’s rumored to be a 5-track EP, entitled Watch the Throne, with an expected release date sometime in March. So until Kanye’s GOOD Fridays start dropping again, we’ve got a teaser of Watch the Throne‘s first single – H•A•M (Hard as a Motherfucker).
Now, as much as I was anticipating their first single, I wondered what Kanye & Jay-Z would do with a track titled H•A•M. Hearing it stood for Hard as a Motherfucker, my first thought was wouldn’t it be H•A•A•M […]
[audio:HAM.mp3|titles=H•A•M]There may have been a lot of criticism on the last song I posted of DOSVEC’s – even though it reached #1 on The Hype Machine – but his ability to enthrall me in contemporary rock & R&B vocalists through electro-heavy beats is sincerely impressive.
Check out DOSVEC’s mashup of Dave Darell’s “Children” & One Republic’s “Apologize”. I think he may have even one-upped Timbaland in how to handle One Republic’s original, but that may be saying a little too much just yet […]

This Ninja Tune release features five Bonobo tracks, mostly remixes. It’s no Black Sands, but it’s a healthy dose of Bonobo and that hip-hop infused scenic sound of his.
