I gotta admit what initially attracted me to this song was Coyote Kisses’ promoter, Abigail, who I thought produced it at the time. It’s hard to come by good female producers, if any, and a track like this with a female behind it would’ve been so damn sexy!
But after some digging around, I found the track was done by the male dominated duo, Coyote Kisses. I may have been a little let down at first, but after getting into their music, it could’ve been composed by a damn donkey for all I cared.
Since then I’ve listened to a handful of their work, but their Anthem still hits the hardest – although their other shit still blows me away. It isn’t just some dirty dubstep beat with overly coiled industrial grinds […]

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months (and it’d have to be a rock without access to the internet or mainstream radio), you’ll have been exposed to Far East Movement’s “Like a G6“. Love it or hate it, well, that doesn’t matter – it’s topped charts everywhere. Personally, when I first listened to it (unaware of the hit it was to become), I thought it was catchy enough, but it was relatively uninspiring, and grew old after a few listens. It was banished to my music library wasteland that is “three stars”. Well, it become a hit, and with any huge hit, comes a shitload of remixes […]

For the last month or so we’ve been flooded with dubstep, remixes or a combination of the two. Not that I’m sick of it, but we’ve got so much other shit in our backlog and somehow dubstep keeps floating to the top.
Well, at the very top of the list is Datsik’s remix of “Boombox”, originally by Bassnectar. My first impression was that it was just another industrial grimer that went off on those dubstep tangents I […]
[audio:Boombox.mp3|titles=Boombox (Datsik Remix)]Last night I went to First Avenue in Minneapolis and saw a group cover John Lennon for the memorial of his death 30 years ago. It was a little more lively than I thought a bunch of 60 year olds would be, but it was a hell of a time.
So I decided to do a little tribute myself by collecting the best Mixes & Mashes of his work with The Beatles, as well as his solo work. Until that’s complete, here’s one of the best dubstep remixes I’ve ever heard, Beatles or otherwise […]

Once I heard Hooky’s remix of “Make You Pop” (originally by Diplo), I knew I’d hear more from this guy. Coming across his SoundCloud page, I found a perfect beat that hit the dubspot.
“Peg Leg” is exactly why I would consider dubstep the Devil’s music (in a good way), well, if he existed. Enjoy this nightmare before the Christmas season overtakes our playing habits.

Bassnectar’s Wildstyle EP is jammed with dubstep goodness. A few tracks kill when it comes to the dubstep drop, mainly “Wildstyle Method” & “Underwater”, but one tops ’em all.
“Hot Right Now” made use of some damn fine MCing, one of which is Zumbi of Zion I (who I think sounds like Tech N9ne). The Hip-Hop/Dubstep fusion is starting to make waves, which I expect to swell very soon.
Get it while it’s hot
[audio:Hot-Right-Now.mp3,Underwater.mp3|titles=Hot Right Now,Underwater]I don’t know why I like dubstep, but sometimes the beat takes you. It’s like screamo music, only a certain person can handle it.
I’m not into a lot of dupstep, however, a nice blend of dub vibes fused with anything from Nelly Furtado to Mozart will get my rave face on.
Hooky’s remix of “Make You Pop” has a good build until it drops so-damn-hard 53 seconds in. The beat hits right on the spot with some unusual sounds for music. Only in dubstep could you drop in something that sounds like your computer just got totally fucked – and sound goood. Enjoy.

Dub Side of the Moon is a reggae tribute to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Since it’s release in early 2003, the album has gotten marketable success and the group’s been touring in support of it since. They also went on to cover other famous albums by Radiohead and The Beatles, but none grew to the success of Dub Side.
Recently, the group enlisted some of the best dubstep DJ’s to remix Dub Side of the Moon to an even dubbier() dub (dubstep), rightfully titled Dubber Side of the Moon.
I’ve listened to a couple tracks so far and it seems like it’s another unique take off Pink Floyd’s original. I’ve only gotten to check out three songs and, although not all topped their predecessors, there’s one that may have pulled it off. […]
