I first caught wind of Bossasaurus back in December, but like my scattered brain, I lost them in my music pile of mess. Well, when I saw some snippets for what’s soon to come from these gents, I had to go back to Lacerta, their debut EP.
“Light Pollution” may have been my initial kick into Bossasaurus’ Lacerta, but I’m starting to warm up to a few of their other tracks. The EP’s got a range of styles, more than I initially thought, and really gives intro to the gen[i]us of these constellations – Lacerta is a constellation/genus of reptile (I’m trying to provide some sort of entertainment :)

So here’s to the little tikes that may be stuck at home like me – though, I don’t know if they’ll appreciate it as much as us 80’s kids.
JPOD the Beat Chef’s little EP of a thing, covers a good portion of the 80’s shows I grew up with, though there’s many more I wish I could see wobbled up like these. I can only imagine wompin’ around to these in the 80’s, but damn it would’ve been a fun time!/kinda […]

This time he takes another classic, “Walk Like an Egyptian”, and dubsteps it to a modern vibe. It was done back sometime in ’03, but is still as fresh as ever.
Last week Pretty Lights Music announced the creation of their new label’s website, featuring Paper Diamond, Break Science & Michal Menert as the label’s first signed acts. As if that’s not enough, now PL music is releasing seven never before released remixes, appropriately named Pretty Lights Unreleased 2010 Remixes.
The seven set of songs consist of a range of genres, but where the set shines is in the classic rock remixes. Pink Floyd’s “Time” & Steve Miller’s “Fly Like an Eagle” get straight electrofied to a new millennium vibe. The rest is still an amazing set to rage to – with Derek Vincent Smith, ya can never really go wrong.
If you’d like to grab all seven songs fo free, head over to the Pretty Lights’ download section on their […]

It’s hard to come by good female producers, if any, and a track like this with a female behind it would’ve been so damn sexy!
But after some digging around, I found the track was done by the male dominated duo, Coyote Kisses. I may have been a little let down at first, but after getting into their music, it could’ve been composed by a damn donkey for all I cared.
Since then I’ve listened to a handful of their work, but their Anthem still hits the hardest – although their other shit still blows me away. It isn’t just some dirty dubstep beat with overly coiled industrial grinds […]

Damn does this glitch hop hit. The intro is a good buildup for the glitch glory to come. J5’s original may have been one of a few dozen J5 classics, but the remix gives this shit edge.
I’m still not quite sure who cut this up, but I’m well on my way to finding out. Until then enjoy this anonymous party poppin’ piece.
“We verbally vibrate your track.”
[audio:Taco-Influence.mp3|titles=Taco Influence (Mashup)]Had the original “Rock the Casbah” as my wake up alarm for a long ass time, but got real sick of it after a while. Always thought it would be a good track to remix, though.
Well, until you see DJ Zmann makin’ waves, check out Funkagenda’s remix of The Clash’s original, “Rock the Chashbah” – probably better than I could ever do anyway.
[audio:Rock-The-Casbah.mp3|titles=Rock the Casbah (Funkagenda Remix)]Coyote Kisses, formed by Joe Sussingham & Bryce Bresnan, is an electronic group that caught my attention from the first few seconds, which doesn’t happen often enough. I have a few songs of theirs to showoff, but first is their recently released, “Starchaser”.
“Starchaser” has a fine resemblance to a Daft Punk track and would probably fit right in to a Tron: Legacy scene. I’ll let one half of the duo, Joe, give you a feel for what they were going for, but make sure to stay tuned for my next post on them, I’d say it hits even HARDER […]
[audio:Starchaser.mp3|titles=Starchaser]There may have been a lot of criticism on the last song I posted of DOSVEC’s – even though it reached #1 on The Hype Machine – but his ability to enthrall me in contemporary rock & R&B vocalists through electro-heavy beats is sincerely impressive.
Check out DOSVEC’s mashup of Dave Darell’s “Children” & One Republic’s “Apologize”. I think he may have even one-upped Timbaland in how to handle One Republic’s original, but that may be saying a little too much just yet […]

This Ninja Tune release features five Bonobo tracks, mostly remixes. It’s no Black Sands, but it’s a healthy dose of Bonobo and that hip-hop infused scenic sound of his.
