Hooky’s remix of “Sunshine” is a ray of hope for that bastard stepchild of a genre, dubstep. Dubstep always does well with high-pitched vocals such as these, but Hooky brings a rustic-step that reverbs off the eardrums nicely.
If you’re still not use to “music” like this, get to – it’s the future of dance.

For the last feature of our 30 Days of SoundKlout, I wanted to show off one of my favorite electro artists, Pretty Lights. However, instead of just throwing out my handful of favorites, I went through every one of his albums and plucked the top ones. It took an assload of time, so I hope you enjoy.

Minnesota’s remix of “A Bad Place”, originally by Shotgun Radio, is more deep covered bass with ever higher synths from MN Can’t say it’s my favorite remix of his, it’s tough competition, but I’m not one to resist gorgeous vocals – <3 Mimi Page - mixed in with some FUTURE BASS.
This’ll be released on Simplify Records in god knows when, so take it in “hear” until then.

I’m sure you’ve all heard of The XX before, but if you haven’t I’m not sure where you’ve been the past two years. Jamie XX has gone solo after a massive world tour and award winning debut album, and I couldn’t be more excited about the sound he’s creating. His originality really makes it hard to put him in a category, but if I had to I’d say Nu Disco. I’ll let you decide for yourself. He has a few shows booked in the U.K., and I anticipate an electrifying tour around The States in the coming months. This is his most recent mix featured on Pete Tong’s legendary radio show BBC Radio 1. Welcome to the groove. Hope you brought your dancing shoes.

Really don’t want to belabor this point, but I’ve finally found a female producer to show off! As many female musicians as we’ve featured on here, I rarely come by a producer, let alone a top-notch one! Now we get one that not only produces some heeaaavy electronic, but switches up her style every damn time. From dubstep to downtempo, ill-esha’s production is mighty fine.
One issue I had with her SoundCloud page is her abundance of clips, although a lot of them seemed complete. I’ve included some of my favorite clips at the bottom, now I gotta go hunt some of their full versions down.

Oh man! does this bring back memories. And what a quality dubmix to put it all together. Figure has done just what I like in a dubstep remix, sticked to the original tune and made it all the more devilish. A perfect treat just in time for Halloween season!

Just another pop masher NO! Kap Slap takes the pop and mashes it up with the biggest names in dance music making for some well tuned RAGERS. From House to Dubstep, this guy can really pop it off with these pop stars. Though, it would be nice if he went to the underground scene a little, eh

The 19 year old wonder does it again. “The Seconds” is nothing short of spectacular. As crazy as it is to say this already, this is vintage Porter. Heavy bass and house beats. Ever since his first song, “Say My Name,” climbed the charts on Beatport, people have been taking notice of Porter Robinson. The young producer proves that he can keep pace with the crafty veterans in sound production and on stage. If you haven’t yet, download his new Spirtfire Ep and catch him this month with Tiesto on their college invasion tour. BIG ups to BIG sounds.

Interesting take on Foo Fighter’s “White Limo”, though I haven’t heard the original yet. Apparently, Grohl asked the guys to do this remix. Understandably, they’ve been doing some killer ones lately. I really should check the original, still wondering how it turned into this. (I think I’ll still be wondering)

Young, french and born to produce house music – this guy is a genius. Madeon is the latest big talent emerging from France and by listening to a few of his tracks, you quickly realize that he is bound to do great things in the electronic music industry. This remix of Pendulum’s “The Island” is a perfect example as he completely transforms the great original into an epic song by combining a powerfull bass track with wicked vocals and nice synth touches here & there.
