I’ve actually had my ups and downs with this one, it’s not that I ever disliked it, I just didn’t have as strong of a feeling for it. I love that signature Pretty Lights sound, but there’s really nothing new as far as experimenting and that’s why I love the dude so much in the first place.
Still, it takes us back and makes for one hell of a Run-DMC remix… although, it’s still not on the level of his 2010 unreleased remixes (yet).
[audio:Its-Tricky-Remix.mp3|titles=It’s Tricky (SSX Pretty Lights Remix)]Sex Ray Vision tune up the electro in Dirty South’s house banger, “Walking Alone” and I’m honestly just here for those vocals, simply lovely. But I gotta give it to SRV as well, they’re always doin dirty on their remixes.
[audio:Walking-Alone-Remix.mp3|titles=Walking Alone (Sex Ray Vision Remix)]I’m one of those annoying assholes that plays a song to death and then again, let’s just say I enjoyed every minute of this, so a cool, nu-disco recook of Adele is welcome as always.
The one thing I cannot stand is a remix/mash that takes popular vocals, such as Adele’s, and remixes it with the same.old.shit (EDM nowadays). If you’re gonna remix, or especially mash, it better sound like nothing I’ve heard before, and that’s just what Carlos Serrano did.
Blending in a classic Daft Punk hit that hasn’t been mashed to death was refreshing to hear. Didn’t really like how he kept the original vocals from “Something About Us,” but it’s blended much better than most mashers pull it off.

The up and coming Houston-based EDM producer combines the beauty of Skylar Grey‘s voice with some heavy bass and synths that takes the song to another level.

I can’t say it closes in on the original, but it’s nice to see two equally talented, yet quite different, artists pairing up for one kickin remix.

In his latest remix, Maz takes on Foster the People’s “Color On The Walls (Don’t Stop)” and electro-guitars the shit out of it, making it ever more dance worthy. This man needs to start pumpin more of these ’cause these are dance floor killers… especially in Miami (bet they do already).

I do wish the quality was a bit fuller, but this mashup matched up too nice not to tell y’all about it.
Also, make sure to check out the video down below, great visuals set to the song.

Well, this is no joke and “Da Da Daa Daa” is one soothing hypnotic electro piece with a bit of the dubstep thrown in ever so slightly… if you can throw in dubstep slightly. This is certainly a Tern in a different direction that I’m down for.
If you’re more of a disco chick/dude, check out his edit of Stevie Wonder’s “Do I Do.”

Not only that, taking a beat from anyone other than the stereotypical EDMer is a big bonus.
In The Hood Internet’s “Shadow Cruising” mashup, it’s so good to hear Lyrics Born on a fresh beat. It makes me wonder what his new album with Lateef is going to sound like. Well, if it’s anything like this, it’ll be a welcomed change.
