A nu-disco Trak with Kimbra & Mark Foster on backups, now that’s a get together. I haven’t heard much from Kimbra before, minus her song with Gotye, but she really shines with that fresh A-trak beat. She’s got a hint of pop flavor, but with a sass that doesn’t sound as manufactured as, say, Katy Perry. Plus, that Foster support isn’t hurting her cause.

My first thought when I heard this, without seeing the title, was that it would be perfect for a lazy sunday. But there’s no way I’m waiting ’til Sunday to release this smooooooooth tune, so just make it a lazy day whatever one it is. I’d also love to hear some smooth West Coast rhymes over it, but I doubt I could find any worthy … I’m way too picky when it comes to MC’s (and so should you!)

ChrisB.’s Lush EP is a two-setter with some strange electro (to say the least) that I love listenin’ to. The two tracks are a crisp of the strangeness, but ‘What’s a Half Step Among Friends,’ steals it… and not just because of those Timbaland samples!

To celebrate the season 2 premiere of Game of Thrones, Rameses B takes on the television show’s theme song and remixes it with such a calming vibe you wouldn’t believe it was dubstep, but it surely is.
What I can’t believe is that more epic shows like this haven’t used melodic dubstep in their scores. It creates such a rapturous feeling (or something like that) … they’ll catch on soon enough.

I still love the dirty bass, as long as it charms me with a lil’ melody. ajapai’s “Drop The Bomb” drops one catchy melody and throws in some electro-madness tuh boot. Only thing missing, which I’m sure we can all agree on, is a few more seconds on the clock. It’s too damn short!

I wanted to give you a little background into this song because I feel like it’s fun when you can connect with the music you listen to on multiple levels. I wrote this song for my girlfriend a long time ago but I never finished it. Whenever we would talk and I’d tell her about new stuff I was working on she’d always ask “What about song #2” When I had sent her the song awhile back I just titled the mp3 song #2 because I had no concrete titles thought up yet. What I want to ask of all you listening is, what would you call this song What does it make you think of Post what you think in the comments below. I’d love to know your ideas.

OK, we’re a couple weeks late on this one, but I feel it necessary to say a couple words about Mord Fustang’s new EP. The release is exactly what one would expect from Mr. Fustang. His signature super fat saws and squares remain the driving force behind all of his tracks, which, coupled with complextro drops and a dash of vocal chops, has proven to be an award winning formula for Beatport’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
