I have to be totally honest with errbody. It’s not often that I find remixes that I like. I almost literally rip my hair out when I hear one – in fact, my roommate has often scolded me for yelling at my speakers – “THOSE LYRICS DON’T GO THERE. THEY DON’T EVEN FIT.”
But I couldn’t resist enjoying this one. It’s probably just because Passion Pit’s the shit, but still […]

Or maybe it’s just I’m obsessed with these beauts mixed with dirty, dirtay dubstep. Either way, this style has ruled SNG for the last half of the year and hope it rules for many months into next.

In this installment, we get Florence’s gazing vocals chopped & slopped by Mr. Wonk. No overstated drops, just beautiful bass buzzin throughout. And great vocals distortion to boot.
[audio:You-Got-Love.mp3|titles=You’ve Got The Love (Mr. Wonk’s Dubstep Mask Mix)]Now I’ve seen everything… or heard it. It’s not easy to surprise me, especially with music, but Skrillex has shocked the hell out of me with this. “Breathe” is no ‘brostepper,’ it’s a melodic dubstep track that’s nothing but relaxation. Only thing I’m not sure of are the vocals, reminds me of Owl City. However, major props to Skrillex for trying something different (all musicians should). Wondering what his fans think, though…
We’ve got more bass in yo face with Cleindl’s dubstep remix of “The Longest Road,” featuring the ever lovely Lissie. That wobble gives me goosebumps every time I feel it, but it might need a little clean me up from what I can tell right now. Although, I may just grow into those dirty wobbles, I’ll have to give it a while, but I’ll get back to y’all for sure (or probably won’t).

He does a job at combing the glories of glitch with those bass driven hip-hop instrumentals.
Anthems of the Hero has just under a dozen fiendish tracks with melodies that’ll straight up hook ya. By far my favorite is his collab with Erica Dee in “Forbidden.” I’m actually doing a post right now on how more SoundClouders need to start collaborating, instead of sampling, and this is just about as perfect of an example as you can get. The two were made for each other (to do this song).

Next up is the tantalizing Bjork in her “Venus as a Boy,” remixed by Parker. Can’t believe I never got all that into her, I guess it took these hypnotic dubstep beats for me to fall in loove. And damn am I in loove.

But even catchier is Basic Physics mashup of “Moves Like Jagger” with a Guetta beat. However, I’ve been waiting too long for a dubstep remix and now it’s finally here.
Aaron Bond’s dubstep remix starts out with a pleasant dubstep starter package. However, when the bass drops it feels stale and lacks any organic elements. I get the whole industrial (non-organic) dubstep, but this lacks any filth to give it that. Once again it seems like the drop is the deciding factor in dubstep and Bond comes up just short – though, I can be a bit of a prude at times :p

It originally started out as just general remixes of video game themes, but after compiling the majority of them, it turned out to be mainly dubstep. Unfortunately, that led to a few good remixes getting cut for now, most notably a favorite hip-hop Mario mashup of mine.
I tried my darndest to get the most memorable classics – such as Zelda, Sonic, Mario and a few other noteworthy – but couldn’t manage to find quality ones for a few. There are just so many damn dubstep remixes out there and most of ’em are complete shit – it’s one of the fastest emerging genres, so there’s bound to be a lot of people hoppin’ on the bandwagon. However, I did manage to come up with 8 solid remixes, so help us come up with the rest and I’ll make sure to give up some cool prizes!! First off, “Hip-Hop Remixes of Video Game Classics”.

This is the first of four tracks to be released “soon,” and damn am I just glad to hear from these two. It’s been too long *tear*.
