Blunt Tactics bring a twangy horn collection to one of Mos Def’s finest. Cuts are spot on and I can’t help but love listening to “Beef” with a bit of a twist. Wonder how his new music is gonna play out compared to classics like this…

I don’t know about y’all, but 2012 sure as hell feels like the Ghetto Funk revival to me.

Song.” The drum patterns play well with the trippy electro-bass and those ominous female vocals (gotta have the ominous female vocals). Would work well in a Magnolia type film – you know, with deep underlying themes.

Cito takes this 90’s classic and makes it up into today’s electro-bass, dubstyle’d scene.
Could definitely see some producer taking this to the next level dubstep, hit me up if you do ;)

Glad we got a sax in here ’cause otherwise I don’t know where I’d classify this, Jazz is still quite iffy. But I’d love to see more like it, it’s the only way we’ll keep modern music classy.

The two sexay bitches known as The Jane Doze have done just that and have taken two of the most memorable vocals of 2011 and thrown it into one hell of a Houser. I do wish they would’ve kept up the momentum a little longer and maybe put in a few other likeminded samples, maybe “Somebody to Love” by Queen near the end – though, that may not have fit the overall theme.
Mucho love for these two, we don’t hear enough lady mashers on here!

But what I love about it is its new feel to Fabolous & Nate Dogg. If you’re gonna mashup popular hip-hop, put something different in any way possible.

Dude is more ghetto funk than Ghetto Funk. Make sure to check out his LP, Bayou Classic – Love.Faith.Honor.Loyalty if you’re feelin this.

In his “Tight Stripes” mashup, 8corp takes even more samples than last time and aligns ’em to one well formed, free flowing mashup. This is why I love super mashups so much, they take a little of a lot and compile it into something completely new (well, maybe not completely).
