I’m surprised I haven’t heard a dubstep // glitch-hop remix of “Jump” yet. It had to be one of the top one-hit-wonders of the 90’s and defined the style for a while.
In The Bolivian Marching Affair’s (TMBA) remix of “Jump,” the electro gunplay hits right from the start. With outlandish breaks & glitches, this really shows where music is heading, for better or worse. However, to all those who don’t understand it, try to remember that this style of music is more about feeling it than actually listening to it (which is true, to a certain point, for all music).

These lazer gunslingers have remixed Prince’s “Seven” with glitch love and lazer light. Shit starts off with a bang, gets a bit monotonous with the vocal breaks towards the middle, but ends it all with one last romp around with those prestigious Prince vocals. <3Lazer View Full Article »

Dubstep really was made for such goolish jams like this!
Wick-it does a number on this MJ classic, however, I do get mixed feelings at times. On the one hand, he’s got the drops down with a good, long coast that lasts – on the other hand, I felt he didn’t push the power in MJ’s vocals enough, not giving the buildup it’s necessary oomph.
Be as it may, it’s still a healthy remix for the Autumn season + I’m always up to hear those sweet, sweet vocals of Michael’s <3 View Full Article »

My only issues may be the drops – I like ’em one minute and not so much the next.
An Awesome remix, nonetheless.

I was always wondering when mainstream music would catch on to dubstep, and Korn was just the right group to introduce it – Metal & Dubstep were a perfect combo from the start. And as much as I love the concept, this newly released track is… well, meh.
“Narcissistic Cannibal” has got some healthy screams and rubs for that dub-dub delight, but the more I listen to it, the more mediocre it gets. I don’t know if it’s just that nostalgic Korn sound that I’m well over or the choice of dubstep producers, but as eager as I am to push this movement, I’m not so eager to push this track.

Always thought you’d do well with a classic game remix, for some reason I always hear traces of it in your music, and you haven’t disappointed this time ’round. Not only did you pick such a classic tune from Sonic, but this bass music rides the original tempo just right.
Now I gots to find more classic game remixes that contend with this. Suggestions

Better yet, she keeps to the original beat, not trying to impress with massive, incoherent drops.
Now, if she could only find more contemporary vocals for her to drop her lovliness on… wait, doesn’t she sing too

Wonder what I’m thinking of… (anyone). Still a bass stabbin remix with enough bass to kill a small goat.

I actually quite enjoyed a couple of the tracks, but more for who he remixed rather than the actual remixes themselves.
He’s got a few bangers that are done real well, but most of his shit just seems marginally above the rest. That’s why I really want to hear the good and bad from you all. I first had a discussion to see if Skrillex was considered Brostep (still can’t figure what that is, haha), but now I just want to understand his mass appeal.
