Gotta give it up to Big Z for taking this Kanye classic and chilling it out- although, I’m guessing the video had something to do with that. Watch out for this one coming on Big Z’s next mixtape, it’s gotta good start so far…

GRiZ gets groovy bass in this Kanye “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” remix. Even better, we get more of a taste from his superb sax playin. I think I’ve overstated how much I love a little brass in my electronic. Only real issue I have with this some of the high squealin dubstep, though I don’t know how I’d make it much better.
In this rapper filled mashup, DeeJay BeeKay takes on some of the top MC’s of today and battles ‘em against Gramatik’s reinterpretation of “Stairway to Heaven.” The MC’s flow in and out with well layered transitions, though some of the vocal cuts need work. Still, a surprisingly well flowing mashup considering such high expectations with anything Zeppelin.
Just put up Xaphoon’s remix of “Marvin & Chardonnay” and now we get a mashup from The Hood Internet with instrumentals borrowed from Wolfgang Gartner’s “The Way It Was.” I can’t quite say which I like better yet, but damn does each have a sick beat to back up Sean & Kanye. Which one do you like better?
I’m not gonna spout off why I like this so much, it’s way too early in the morning. But I will say this, it’s nice to hear a Xaphoon joint over something other than Chiddy. And no I’m not bashing Chiddy! people…
May not hit as hard as VOODOO FARM’s remix, but the twists & turns Mark Kill pulls off in this are quite unexpected (in a good way). From the “Thriller” samples to the voice manipulations, this “Niggas in Paris” remix takes a bunch of mad sounds (literally) and focuses ‘em into one mind pumping take on Jay-Z & Kanye’s romp around the City of Light.
8corp has that certain gift for supermashups. You know that one where he takes such varying vocals and weaves ‘em into one seamless piece. When he gets into those certain romps of his, you don’t know what’s coming next, but you know it’s gonna be goooood.
One thing I didn’t care for were the vocal manipulations resulting in that Chipmunk effect, though it’s small price to pay for this beaut of a mashup.
Mixing a hip-hop version of Mario’s classic theme with Kanye & Nas sounds like a joke at first. But once you settle up with this mix, you realize how well it’s done. To something that would initially seem cheesy as hell, “Classic Mario” is an epic mashup for any nerdcore hip-hop fan.
