We stopped featuring & playlisting remixes for the most part, bigger plans in the works, and cover songs have been even more scarce. Over the last few years we’ve collected a few dozen and finally we get to share our favorites with you! (it’s been a long time coming)
There were quite a few acoustic covers initially, but we wittled ’em down. Like remixes and dubstep, the world of acoustic covers is super saturated and with that comes us & our super powers to filter the shit out of ’em.
Our favorite female vocalists of 2014 had a part two and this was going to be it. But so many of them were downtempo electronic, so we decided to make something more specific out of it, and brought in some older tracks.
Our electro relaxations has been our most popular playlist to date, other than the beats to blaze to, and we always wanted to include female vocals over the relaxations. And here it finally is…

So for our first best music list of 2013, we get a mix of beautiful singers with producers who deserve half the credit. And the ones that are doing it right not only have a choice selection in catalogue, but also take the time to artfully craft their image as they do their artists.
Each of these 12 labels sport some of the most well respected producers & musicians that belong on this blog and create a culture with style around their music. On here I may point out a few that lack in proper online presence, but they are all doing it right when it comes to the perception of this era’s evolution in music labels.

If you can’t see (or hear) what’s going on creatively around the world, you’re not exploring it enough. It’s out there, in all forms. Jessie’s ‘What You Won’t Do For Love’ is the latest distinction I’ve come across. It feels like she’s singing straight to me and isn’t that what music’s about. And who did this beat woofta.
