Gigamesh’s remix of “Tongue Tied” is that forever loving disco that Gigamesh does best. I can’t believe how long this took for me to post, let’s just say I didn’t realize how popular the ‘mesh was, but it’s still just as Minnesota fresh.

I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a Raw Poetic track. This may not be surprising if you’re listening to “Streamline,” but I rarely ever like every song of someone’s. (knock on wood)
For “Streamline,” Damu & Raw P team up to dish out some fine jazz rap. Weren’t these two suppose to be working on something else… ah yea, that new Panacea album. Well, I don’t know if Damu’s in on that, but I can already tell this is going to be a very Raw Poetic year.

PRJCTS’ “Eastside Wasteland” combines that jazzy soul with well dictated raps. This isn’t just some poet tryin to get his words across, but real verbal artistry in the works. Love the style these two are pushin, although the quality in production, whether intended or not, needs some polishing. Still, much better than the original.

Oh . no . he . didn’t! ENiGMA made for one of the best dubstep remixes of 2011 with his remix of Afrojack & Steve Aoki’s “No Beef” and now he’s doin dirty on Nate Dogg Oh, hell yes!
“I Got Love” gets drumstepped on by ENiGMA and sounds fresher than ever. It’s actually the first time I think I get what the difference between drumstep & dubstep are. But it really doesn’t matter, I’m so damn sick of these subgenre’s, it’s all Bass Music to me.

DJ Faroff’s mashup of The Beatles & LCD Soundsystem (with a lil Kinks thrown in) is “far off” from being new, but I just had to throw it up. “The Brits Are Playing at the Warehouse” is bringing that Beatles sound forward more than just mashing it up. It takes on LCD Soundsystem’s “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House,” which fits just right into this “Get Back” tune. + The Kinks cameo is a nice touch.

There’s no better way to remember what Whitney Houston’s done for us and what we’ll remember her by than with a beautiful acapella of her song, “How Will I Know,” leaving her voice alone & unadulterated. This Freedom Fry duo isn’t what I’m usually posting up, but Marie Seyrat’s voice hooked me in ever so slightly. I wasn’t too keen to the track at first, but I knew there was something about that chorus (I’m a sucker for a catchy one).
Well, “Earthquake” has grown on me just enough to give it praise, but I have a feeling it also might have to do with my love appeal for French women. Anyone who has to put up with French men is a saint in my eyes.

I’ve heard many chop & skew The Weeknd’s vocals before, but Madeaux does it a little differently in “The Space Between Us.” He doesn’t try and overemphasize The Weeknd to entice people in, but takes what makes the vocals one of a kind and turns it into an even grander hypnotizer. At first I wasn’t quite sure if some of the vocals were even The Weeknd himself, they were that chopped & skewed, but that’s what makes it so special, he lets you glimpse in & out, seamlessly flowing through electro manipulation.
