Our SoundKlout series is all about finding the best artists SoundCloud has to offer. Each day we’ll spotlight a handful of good music from a selected SoundClouder. If you know anyone that needs noticing, make sure to hit us up with a few of their tracks.
It’s hard to find artists in this style, dubstep & glitch, that appeal to more than just the select few fans. As much as Stephan Jacobs is still as an acquired taste as any of his kind, he really puts mass appeal potential to his work. Just gotta wait around until the people catch up to this progress in music.
Stephan Jacobs & + Verb – Blind Dreams
Dammmmnnn that bassline kills it. Top notch production, never left unfed.
Stephan Jacobs – Cyber Sax (feat Sergio Flores)
I’m such a sucker for the sax. And I definitely don’t hear it enough in the glitch hop // dubstep stylings. it so saxy.
Emancipator – When I Go feat Taho Nguyen (Stephan Jacobs Remix)
Wasn’t all that impressed with Emancipator’s remix album. This should’ve been included on it – takes the original and adds some fine ethereal to bass goodness.
Notorious Thugs (Stephan Jacobs Remix)
I don’t know if I love the hypnotic synths or the cracklin bass better, but this makes for one justified Notorious remix.
Stephan Jacobs & Love and Light – Thats So Cali
This is how they do it, hard- with a bit of lazer bass and splash of crunkness.
Ellie Goulding – Under the Sheets (Stephan Jacobs Remix)
Included this on my Ellie Goulding Dubstep Remixes and I think it was my first taste of Jacobs’, yum.
Stephan Jacobs & Love and Light – The One (feat Delevo)
Gorgeous vocals & dirty dubstep… can’t get much better than that.
Stephan Jacobs & Ben Samples – Nano Puppy (Stephan’s Bone Thug’s Re-edit)
I don’t know which Notorious remix is better, but those raps make these beats.
Empire of the Sun – We Are The People (Stephan Jacobs Remix)
Vocals get a little lost in the dubWOBBLE, but gives it a more entranced feel.
Kraddy – Minotaur (Stephan Jacobs Remix)
It’s all about those four consecutive bass grinders (or whatever the hell ya call ’em).
When those four consecutive bass grinders hit, I was sold.
