YoungLife’s remix of “Paradise” appears to be a relaxing one up until a few minutes in when you realize you’ve got one hell of a rave-worthy remix. But as much as I love 80% of it, the other 20% needs mentioning.
The dub coiling half way through the piece really isn’t needed, but I understand its appeal and inclusion. However, it does need to tone down the dub and smoothin out the coiling into a more melodic style of dubstep. Still, nothin but love for this.

He may have laid The Fray’s vocals down as pleasant as ever, but when those Weezy vocals hit, I was lost in the transition. Such a pleasant track that it’s even gotten me liking Weezy auto-tune (eh).

Cole & Jermaine… I think I’ll get into B for a lil bit. It was sad to see Andre’s lyrics dropped, but Cole’s feature, although brief, does it well. What really brings it all together is that beat, so soulfully seductive.
[audio:Beyonce-Cole-Party.mp3|titles=Party (Remix)]Mochipet’s griddy remix of “Bombtrack” starts off a bit slow, but gets messy soon after. Rage was made to be remixed in this glitch-hop, dub-steppy mess we call 2011 and Mochipet takes full advantage.

These lazer gunslingers have remixed Prince’s “Seven” with glitch love and lazer light. Shit starts off with a bang, gets a bit monotonous with the vocal breaks towards the middle, but ends it all with one last romp around with those prestigious Prince vocals. <3Lazer View Full Article »

Or at least something out of a picturesque scene in a film – you know, when the lonely boy flashes back to his first girlfriend dancing in the summer green grass in slow motion, next to Boo Radley’s tree… minus the last part. Unfortunately, it all goes downhill from there.
I love my breakbeats and heavy drums, but this “Skinny Love” remix needs to stay in the high & mighty. Owsey goes into some glitchy bass work, which may not be half bad, but really doesn’t fit well here. Like I said before, this piece feels like a nostalgic dreamscape and the only place for glitch and bass is […]

On the one hand, he’s got the drops down with a good, long coast that lasts – on the other hand, I felt he didn’t push the power in MJ’s vocals enough, not giving the buildup it’s necessary oomph.
Be as it may, it’s still a healthy remix for the Autumn season + I’m always up to hear those sweet, sweet vocals of Michael’s <3 View Full Article »

I was always wondering when mainstream music would catch on to dubstep, and Korn was just the right group to introduce it – Metal & Dubstep were a perfect combo from the start. And as much as I love the concept, this newly released track is… well, meh.
“Narcissistic Cannibal” has got some healthy screams and rubs for that dub-dub delight, but the more I listen to it, the more mediocre it gets. I don’t know if it’s just that nostalgic Korn sound that I’m well over or the choice of dubstep producers, but as eager as I am to push this movement, I’m not so eager to push this track.

This uplifting electro beat was done by the Sound Remedy, remixed with every bleep, bump and BLURP (I don’t know how to type some sounds) for my electro wants & needs. Props for not only puttin’ Cobain’s voice on a different vibe, but with some electro-class.

Can’t say I love it more than the original, but it sure is something to get twisted to.
* Sounds like they’re saying Obama at the start (instead of Mama) – I’m trippin, haha.
