A soothing house # that takes Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” and makes it as sensual as ever. Man, I remember the “Wicked Game” music video from back in the day #90sSuave!

In his “Tight Stripes” mashup, 8corp takes even more samples than last time and aligns ’em to one well formed, free flowing mashup. This is why I love super mashups so much, they take a little of a lot and compile it into something completely new (well, maybe not completely).

They have been an anomaly for the past few years, dropping consistently solid mixes to already well-known and loved songs. However, they have flown pretty under the radar as far as blogs go, and credit is finally due. Where 2011 was a year of glitchy beats, neon and heavy bass drops, I foresee 2012 as a year fueled by minimalism, the all-powerful synth… and hopefully – for my skin-tone’s sake – less neon and more pastels.
In the past few months, RAC has dropped some arguably better-than-original remixes. In my current favorite, “Love U More” by Sunday Girl, they did so by removing the unnecessarily heady house music-feel and cranking up the classic snyth-pop vibe, which gives the song a much less “epic” and more endearing, simple feel. While I can’t say I’m not a fan of the […]

This is what is lacking in pop culture and hip-hop all around. Too many vocalists & MC’s focus on what they’re saying and not how they’re saying it and don’t seem to be 100% unfiltered. Lana, on the other hand, has a cool reservation with a ray (rey) of honesty always shining through (punned it!).
In her latest leak, “National Anthem” gives spins to America’s underlining goals. Like any of the other rebelious teenagers, Del Rey points out the flaws in our system, but unlike the rest, she does it in a sexy as fuck way.
This girl was trouble in 2011 and it’s only gonna get worse/better this year.

What a perfect tune for this magical Christmas time, but what I love most isn’t those icon vocals of his, but the just as iconic guitar strumming done by the one and only Eric Clapton. Is this the first time the two have gotten together for a song since “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”

She’s got the sexiest voice of the year, but there seems to be something a bit more sinister behind those big red lips. One thing I can say for her is she’s got spunk. Like the only redeeming quality of Nicki Minaj, Lana’s got some character behind that voice, which a lot of vocalists should take note of.
In her latest single to release off of Born to Die, “Off to the Races” seems to be an ode to her neglectful father. A love/hate relationship, she seems to have an Oedipus complex, only the other way around, for her dear old father. With her ‘sad core’ sounds it makes for a heartfelt tale, but one wonders what the real story behind this stereotypical delinquent father/needy daughter sales pitch is (not to be too blunt about it).
[audio:Off-To-Races.mp3|titles=Off to the Races]This is no epic dubstep remix of “Crave You,” but funkedout electro fits Giselle’s voice quite well. The beat is right on pace with hers and brings a whole new flavor to Flight Facilities’ classic. Props to Michael Brun, Paris FZ & Simo T for getting together and bringing this to light.

But once you habituate that lovely thang, you realize it’s not the voice, but how he carries it that makes it so.damn.fresh. + those choruses of his are killer!
This time around, we get a remix of “Helena Beat” by YoungLife, which puts a electro-funk twist to these unforgettable chorus lines. Splash in some House and a little demented dubstep at the end and it’ll get you goin at any club.

In this installment, we get Florence’s gazing vocals chopped & slopped by Mr. Wonk. No overstated drops, just beautiful bass buzzin throughout. And great vocals distortion to boot.

Van Hooft & Forever Kid take to one of Whitney’s most memorable tunes, “How Will I Know,” and puts one inspired House remix down to support it. Definitely a club-worthy track, Van Hooft & Forever Kid take all the bullshit out of what’s happened to Whitney in the more recent years and puts back the purity of what made her so famous, that powerHOUSE of a voice.
