GRiZ gets groovy bass in this Kanye “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” remix. Even better, we get more of a taste from his superb sax playin. I think I’ve overstated how much I love a little brass in my electronic. Only real issue I have with this some of the high squealin dubstep, though I don’t know how I’d make it much better.

Wish the raps were beefed up in quality a lil, but then again it just wouldn’t bring it back like it does if it did. This shit is smooth all the way through.

Their first single, “Brake,” still has some of the old Cudi, but with a whole lotta new. Whether you like their psychedelic rap-rock or not, Cudi’s flow is still on that mind-numbing, next level shyt. And this is just the start – can’t wait for what’s to come (early) next year.
[audio:Brake.mp3|titles=Brake]Gambino may back up his raps with pristine beats, but Bahler brings on a whole new perspective to his Childish words. In this mash, Gambino’s “Heartbeat” gets a disco fresh take with beats sampled from Midnight Conspiracy’s remix of “Crimewave,” originally by Crystal Castles & HEALTH. Definitely an upbeat, dance worthy hell of a time!

The biggest change I see in Gambino’s Camp over his last few mixtapes is the production and fuckin fab.u.loso vocals.
Production is definitely the most surprising aspect to this album. With all of Gambino’s past work, I thought of it as just a fun side project to his “real” work (comedy). Now that I see his dedication with production and bringing in other acts to support him, I see it’s more than just […]
[audio:Fire-Fly.mp3|titles=Fire Fly]Other than this being the longest damn name and barely fitting on this post, Fytch & Jaysty’s “Lose Yourself Till I Collapse Patiently Waiting” is a healthy dubstep wrangler with ever higher-state synths. And as much as I can’t find any clear criticisms, I still feel like something needs tweaking. I have a feeling it’s to do with those synthy snths, but who knows. See for yourself.

But the best thing has got to be those Chiddy flows. I’ll give 50% to Xaphoon, but I haven’t heard Chiddy sound so fresh since The Preview […]
[audio:Ray-Charles.mp3|titles=Ray Charles]I’ve gone through Gambino’s CAMP one time through and I was pretty damn shocked with it, to say the least. Let’s just say I’ll be doing a top albums of the year all thanks to the Mr. Glover, aka Childish Gambino, aka Dong Lover. But until the full album’s release next Tuesday, I’m gonna hold off on my full thoughts on the album.
Until then, here’s the first single off the album, rightfully titled “Outside.” With its inspiring tune and a touche type message, Gambino gets all of us reclusive types to once again realize maybe we should get the fuck out of the house once in a while. Wish this was a Spring album, so I could actually take the advice, though some sledding might do me in nice.
[audio:Outside.mp3|titles=Outside]In this rapper filled mashup, DeeJay BeeKay takes on some of the top MC’s of today and battles ’em against Gramatik’s reinterpretation of “Stairway to Heaven.” The MC’s flow in and out with well layered transitions, though some of the vocal cuts need work. Still, a surprisingly well flowing mashup considering such high expectations with anything Zeppelin.
