Nothing is better to dance to right now than this style of electronic music. I thought electro funk sounded fitting as a title, but it’s more commonly known simply as electro and to some extreme electro house and bass music. Though this naming shit is getting outta hand, as necessary as it is.
The sound actually sounds like something between disco-house & bass music, but more experimental than the former and more soulful than the latter. It gets a little strange at times, but that’s exactly what dance music needs right now.
I’m up at 3am and I just gotta post this Timberlake remix. WhiteNoize is so fucking on point with this beat for Suit & Tie. It gets rid of that terribly repetitive JT chorus and pops it off electro-nice. And really made me realize that I actually do like Timberlake & Jay-Z’s vocal contributions, it’s just that beat that needed work. Good work, WhiteNoize.
Last year when I was writing up a piece on the best ghetto funk of 2011, I thought that ghetto funk would be the next biggest thing in emerging music – well, I more hoped it would be. The sub-genre just doesn’t have enough traction with producers and listeners to be the next big thing.
