Genres are boring. Artists don’t want to be categorized and quantified, it makes their music seem un-original, like its just another part of the whole scene. Some artists fail miserably in their attempts to diversify their sound, while others burst into a new scene with more force than we’ve seen in years.
Amtrac, aka Caleb Cornett, is a 24 year old musician from Kentucky, USA. His unique blend of all the best elements of electro, house, pop, dubstep, hip-hop and just about any sound he feels like using, it seems, makes him a standout from other producers who are still spitting out the same old song over and over. Reminiscent of parties at your friend’s house in high school, 2 AM, everyone is too drunk or high to rage, Amtrac’s songs are lively and funky, but don’t pound your head with a 4-to-the-floor hammer beat.
