I found these three a week or so back and planned on featuring them separately. While deciding which one to feature first, I thought why not just throw ’em all up at the same time. But like I always do when finding three or so songs with the same theme, I started to stir up ideas on how to make it into a grand post… except this time I thought, fuuuuck that.
My back and neck are Killin’ and I’m not really up for spending hours researching the best dozen or so, so I’m gonna let these three standalone. Anyways, I think they’re best together by themselves, it just feels meant to be.

Apparently, there’s a whole lotta stoners on StumbleUpon because the traffic from there has been majority flowing in since.
So in tribute, I decided to start it back up and go from a hip-hop theme to an even trippier one. Now, all of these aren’t technically “trip hop” tracks, but they’re somewhere in that mix. So check out a handful of my finest, awe-inspiring electronica to smoke out to. I’ll also include a few albums from various genres if we get enough traction (ie. you share it with yo friends).

What I unearthed was a 5-track EP titled Electro City that Derek Vincent Smith (Pretty Lights), apparently, never released. The version I found were unnamed tracks, but I did a little digging around and found what their names were (well, 4/5 so far).
The first track I present to you is “Better Than I’ve Ever Been” featuring Kanye West & what sounds like Prince. Make sure to check back in, they just keep getting better from here. Start preparing for the New Year :)

When you create something, you create it for yourself. You share it with the world and should expect nothing back.
Welcome to the manic depressive world of Scott Mescudi. Get caught up in his highs and lows. […]

Not only does she accompany Cudi on two tracks, but the two bring out a more sophisticated side of his music. He may be known for his introspection, but it seems to be sprinkled with a little less keef for these two tracks, unlike the rest of the album.
Check ’em out and give some thoughts on how you think the duo stacks up.
“So much whiskey all in my liver. I really like the punch it delivers, makes me warm when I high five sinners.”

Remixes are startin to take over here. With all the musical resources I go through – Hypem/SoundCloud/etc – remixes and mashups are always toppin the charts.
Phaseone’s remix would be the most recent addition and it’s a damn fine one at that. I listened to the damn thing nearly a dozen times before I moved on to something else – I have a bad habit of listening to a song over and over until I kill it for everyone else.
Thanks to AK JIGGA for this one.

We all need a mental vacation once in a while, and with Emancipator’s escapist sounds it’s the perfect remedy to let the mind at ease.
Stargate Studios recently used Emancipator’s “Lionheart” to help unfold the fascinating virtual manipulation that goes on in their studio. I don’t know which I’m more impressed by – Emancipator or Stargate Studios – but combine the two and get artistic look at how easy our eyes can be deceived.

Dub Side of the Moon is a reggae tribute to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Since it’s release in early 2003, the album has gotten marketable success and the group’s been touring in support of it since. They also went on to cover other famous albums by Radiohead and The Beatles, but none grew to the success of Dub Side.
Recently, the group enlisted some of the best dubstep DJ’s to remix Dub Side of the Moon to an even dubbier() dub (dubstep), rightfully titled Dubber Side of the Moon.
I’ve listened to a couple tracks so far and it seems like it’s another unique take off Pink Floyd’s original. I’ve only gotten to check out three songs and, although not all topped their predecessors, there’s one that may have pulled it off. […]

While on my daily Facebook stocking rounds, I came across a Starfucker’s post on Josh Hodges’s remix of “I Can Smell It”, originally by Copy.
Let’s just say there’s a big damn difference between the two. I was originally going to post Copy’s version along with the remix, but it really wasn’t worth it. Props to Copy for the original, but it’s got nothing on Josh’s remix.
I find with a lot of electronic beats, there are usually some sick samples used, but when they put it all together it falls short of a stand out track. It’s not just about taking/creating good beats, but how you […]
