Loo & Placido · Future Sound

Gorillaz vs. Nero & Knife Party vs. Bassnectar

Gorillaz gon dubstep, I always wondered how this would sound. And as much as I like all three tracks separately, I wish the drops would’ve been weaved in with “Clint Eastwood” a bit more. Though, some parts were quite enjoyable (had me at the Del Drop).

Kraddy ·· Anthems of the Hero

featuring one breathtaking collab with Erica Dee

It took me way too long to get this out, but I’m so glad to introduce you all to this ex-Glitch Mobb-er, Kraddy, if you haven’t heard him yet. He does a job at combing the glories of glitch with those bass driven hip-hop instrumentals.

Anthems of the Hero has just under a dozen fiendish tracks with melodies that’ll straight up hook ya. By far my favorite is his collab with Erica Dee in “Forbidden.” I’m actually doing a post right now on how more SoundClouders need to start collaborating, instead of sampling, and this is just about as perfect of an example as you can get. The two were made for each other (to do this song).

Kanye West · Diamonds (Big Z Remix)

"Yeah, the beat cold, but the flow is anemic."

Gotta give it up to Big Z for taking this Kanye classic and chilling it out- although, I’m guessing the video had something to do with that. Watch out for this one coming on Big Z’s next mixtape, it’s gotta good start so far…

Bjork · Venus as a Boy (Parker Remix)

Guess I gotta come out with a "dubstep the 90's" compilation...

These buzzed out bass remixes are taking over the airwaves here on SNG and goddamn do I love it.

Next up is the tantalizing Bjork in her “Venus as a Boy,” remixed by Parker. Can’t believe I never got all that into her, I guess it took these hypnotic dubstep beats for me to fall in loove. And damn am I in loove.

Marcy Playground · Sex & Candy (Remix)

A Papa Skunk Crunked-out Remix

One of the most overplayed tracks of ’97, “Sex and Candy” is about as telling of the 90’s as any other song. While I’m still trying to get over the original, I’m always up for bringing the 90’s back!… or is it forward

Papa Skunk’s crunk remix of “Sex and Candy” brings that electro-bass rumbling with a soft piano play on top. I don’t know how he got them to work off each other so well, but this is one dank take on Marcy Playground’s classic.

Eazy-E · Creep N Crawl (Remix)

Kombat & Pop The Hatch dubstep massacre

I love finding those remixes with rappers from wayyy back in the day that you haven’t listened to in a while. I completely forgot how big Eazy-E was an influence in getting me into hip-hop and, although, I’ve caught him here & there, it’s nice to see him remixed so fresh.

In Kombat & Pop The Hatch’s dubstep remix of “Creep N Crawl,” the two elegantly massacre Eazy-E (still wrappin my head around an “elegant massacre”). What I appreciate most is that they keep Eazy-E at center stage and never try to outstage him with the dubstep. The drops are dirtier than ever, but they still keep to the MUTHAFUCKIN E.

Richard Grey · Lady

One inspiring remake!

Richard Grey does one hell of a job remaking “Lady” with an inspiring electro beat and vocals that more than back it up. Wish it would go on forever… or at least a couple more minutes ;)

I’m pretty sure Modjo did the original, but I could be wrong

Basic Physics ·· Winter Warmup EP

Rompin 'round a Winter Wonderland

When listening to new mashup artists, I always need to make sure they matched up the beats correctly. It’s nice to listen to the more veteran mashers, like Basic Physics, because I can just sit back and relax… I’ll I have to do is figure out if I like their choices.

In his latest EP, Winter Warmup, BP puts together three dance-floor worthy tracks. None of them compare to his “Jagger” mashup, it’s one of my favorite of the year, but I think if I just give ’em more time they’ll be equally heart BEAT pumpin. Starting to especially like the “Strength in Numbers” mash.

Wiz Khalifa · That Plane (Whole-Z Remix)

with a BONUS remix of Limp Bizkit's "Nookie"

Still surprised I haven’t gotten into Kahlifa more. I guess it’s just that need a remix situation and that remix is this. Whole-Z brings out Khalifa’s steady rap and vocal highs with synths that touch just right. Just shows the range Whole-Z puts on his remixes compared to his Edward Sharpe remix.

Common · The Believer ft. John Legend

Good shit, but not nearly Great

As inspiring as the beat is, Common & John Legend’s “The Believer” doesn’t inspire much in my writing. It’s a solid track with beautiful vocals and well written rhymes, but that’s nothing new for these two. Maybe it’s just my mood, I’ll listen to it later, but I’m not feelin it as much as I’d like. What do y’all think
